Long, but read it!
Today is a murphy day, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong, even stuff that I didn't know could go wrong went wrong.
I was going to play tennis today, but when I woke up..IT WAS RAINING. Nevermind, it stopped raining, so I was like yay I can play later, and it rained again..so after sitting around doing nothing for like 2 hours because I had this feeling of lethargy, I decided to do chinese.
Lunch time! Went out to get lunch. Even a simple trip to ntuc could be ruined by some man who started preaching to me about..nevermind have to be sensitive. Anyway I just stood there and listened, though the liang cha fridge he was standing next too was much nicer to look at and before I knew it he was done! But I missed my show =(
With the food in my hands, I was scurrying home. Got into the lift, 3rd floor, took out my keys, oops dropped..into the gap between the lift and the door. No one was at home, phone was at home charging. So I ran around in search of a pay phone, all the while hoping it was a dream and that I would wake up soon, but it wasn't a dream and I was hungry gah. Gave my father a call and good thing he was going to come back soon anyway.
So I sat at the void deck..waiting..hoping something interesting would happen like a stray cat would appear and I could play with it and bring it home or something. But instead I watched some men with a chain saw mutilate a tree and a maid folding and throwing paper aeroplanes with the unwanted advertisements from the letter box.
Anyway, though I mostly disagreed with whatever the guy at ntuc had to say, he talked a little bit about school, and it so happens that my 4 years in high school have just ended. He said something like school is only for your career, and he asked me why I studied(but he didn't let me answer) and he said it's just to get that certificate, school can't make you happy. I think that was the thing that made me more interested in the liang cha fridge.
But, honestly, when we were still in school we were busy complaining about all the huge workload and stuff, which is stressful and hard no doubt, but I think that that guy just had a very sad school life. If school to him is just about that piece of paper, well, I kind of pity him, he's barely scratched the surface. I don't need to tell you about all the people you meet in school and the things that you do that are not necessarily just sitting in class learning. The teachers whom you meet that not only help you get your a1s, but impart skills that will be useful even after you graduate. The friends, the things that they do that are not possible to list so I'm not going to list them out(heh). But if not for school, I would not have had access to so many opportunities and met so many great people. So, yes, I can safely say that school has made me happy, it's just how you want to live your life in school.
Just like how we were missing primary school life when we were in secondary school, I'm starting to miss high school life already. So much is bound to change, it's unavoidable, though, some things will still remain the same.
A message was posted by council last night about commencement dinner.
