Exams are overrrrrr wooooo! And that also marks the end of my unofficial
I actually have this long list of random stuff I wanted to post about, but because of my laziness..and also because I forgot what that long list was, I shall just post about more recent stuff.
The few weeks of term 4 before exams were quite amusing. 梁老师's "My foot! 我的脚!" Ms sunita telling us about her experience in marking o level social studies papers, like people asking her what the source means during the paper itself. Some teachers were also giving us gifts, and by some coincidence teachers like to give the chocolate called BOOST with the message "here's a little BOOST for your exams".
Anyway, the exams were quite up and down, no paper was particularly easy, doable at some parts but not easy. And the studying was crazy, especially when literally my whole floor was dotaing despite having a paper the next day. Good thing I started and quit two years ago.
IHC was by far the most intensive with all the case studies. Cod wars, sino-india, korean war, israel jordan, sri lanka, as well as all the singapore stuff like total defence, ns, defence industry. Then there's UN and ASEAN. And not forgetting the super intensive israel palestinian conflict with arab israeli war, suez war, six day war and yom kippur war. I didn't really study the singapore stuff initially and I was gonna bet everything on conflicts coming out for essay. But the night before the exam alex and I just went through all the points and the exact same question came out for essay so I didn't die(sort of). I got my paper back today and it was a scrapped a2 which is kind of disappointing since ihc is one of my favourite subjects. We kind of studied for nothing thought since everything we studied so intenstively for didn't come out, they gave a decontextualised sbq in the end gah. But it's still quite amusing to think about how alex and I wanted to write "singapore places much emphasis on -insert factor- so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation".
On the other hand, I used everything I studied for ihc as examples for english expo instead. There was actually a question on war and I was like yay ihc. But results will be another thing o.o
E math paper was quite easy to most people, but I got stuck at a few questions. At one point of time I was like going into my panic state, and then suddenly ms sunita took over as the invigilator, and when I looked up she gave me her typical evil smile and all of a sudden I felt very calm, she pretty much saved my e math paper.
Saturday was a series of very fortunate coincidences. I couldn't stand studying at home because of pressure from my parents, so I decided to go back to boarding school on saturday instead. On saturday night I got a cut on my eyelid after a freak accident that resulted in my slamming into the edge of a table. I thought it was a bruise initially because there wasn't much pain, until I saw blood on my palm. By the time I got to the toilet, half my face was covered in blood, like, seriously, derrick saw and he got a shock lol. Mr sng happened to be the only boarding master around so he brought me to holland v, and he told me that he was actually supposed to be out for dinner but they changed their plans at the last minute. My wound got glued shut and before I knew it I was back in boarding school studying for chem.
This week was the most hectic, chem, physics, chinese, a math. Chem was filled with horrible english and weird questions, some question about a submarine sinking in Norway and the plutonium polluting the water and you have to use kinetic theory to explain how it can spread faster and everything. Then they asked what will happen if it sinks it singapore. All the science papers this year were terribly tricky.
A math was the killer. Mrs khoo actually posted a message saying that the jc teachers commented that the a math paper was too hard, the same jc teachers who complain that our math standard was too low. I went to look for mrs khoo before the paper, and the advice that she gave was priceless, she said that if there's some problem that you can't solve, just move on. They put some super hard question on the 2nd page that most people couldn't do, but on the 3rd page it was all doable, so if you had spent too much time on the second page you'll like kill yourself for missing all the free marks.
My brain shut off after the a math paper, so I couldn't do the higher math paper lol, I actually had trouble remembering what cosine rule was.
Went to ion orchard and orchard central with peng and yao nian after the last two papers to unwind. Then it was ihc paper checking this morning before tennis with darren and cca appreciation.
So..exams are over but I'm not any free-er, there's community problem solving finals which means a lot a lot of work. And project sunshine is still going strong, speaking of which, the family actually cooked us dinner for hari raya celebrations haha.
Interview with 95.8 tomorrow, which means sleep early! Early is relative.
