I shall do a non horrible terrible vegetable post with no pictures first since i'm lazy to upload the pictures and i'm really blur now cos i just woke up so i probably forgot how to connect the camera to the comp yay. The world feels like it's spinning and i'm very dizzy o.o something is wrong with me. DAY 1, Saturday 10 May
See got header so organised right. Reached tanjong pagar
Train ride was like damn long. From 6+ to 4am. We tried sleeping but..how do you sleep in a cramped seat lol. Took photos, watched yujie and choong and others get 5 demerit points. Everyone got bored and soon they started making the cafeteria owner rich by buying kaya toast and chao fan. siao lar, 3am wake up go buy fried rice lol. Luckily i got mine that my father bought at the train station heh. Managed to get like 1 hour of sleep? lol. And i got my new nickname, golf ball man, shall not elaborate lol.
DAY 2, Sunday 11 May
Arrived at gua masang in malaysia at around 4am. Saw a clinic called clinic gigi(GG) which is actually just dentist lol but being the random people that we are we were easily amused. Stoned outside the kfc WHICH WAS CLOSED, of course lar 4am, and the chinese restaurant next door opened so we went in and had our breakfast. It's not really a restaurant lar sort of like a coffee shop with only one stall. The noodles awere niceeeee. Jitwoons one was spammed with beansprouts. Took some picutres with the background which was some cliff thing and some of us thought it was the mountain lol.
Later we went to take the car to the base camp. At the base camp i left 3 out of my 5 sets of clothes there cos we only needed one set for sleeping and one set for climbing and i was lazy to carry it all up lol. Mr chua took out his ssandals, threw it into the bag with all our stuff we were gonna leave there. Mr chen saw, and did the same. Later at our first camp, mr chua took out a pair of slippers, my chen had nothing lol so he was stuck to his shoes for the rest of the trek. We had to declare all our items like plastics and stuff cos they wanted to make sure we don't litter, but a lot of stuff we didn't declare like all the wrappers cos we forgot o.o
We got onto the jeep. Roller coaster ride to the starting point lol. The driver speed lar. And they kept screaming for fun lol cos it's like open air and you can see the steep drops and climbs. Took pics so come back next time to see heh.
Reached the starting point. There was this small shelter with tables so we ate our packed lunch there. It was sawrmed with bees and butterflies. The occasional bzzzzzzz from a bee flying past your ear can be damn irritating, and the bees were like 2 times the size of singapore bees lol.
The journey began! See i crap so long then the journey begin. We crossed the suspension bridge into gunung tahan
So we walked and walked and climbed, that's pretty much what we did. And yangcheng shouted LEECHES every few steps lol. Came to our first resting spot. Everyone one check for leeches, i don't have. Suddenly i hear that familiar voice, LEECH. yangcheng got bitten lol. They tried fire but never come off, so i used my
After getting rid of most of the leeches from our bodies. We carried on walking. Then we were told that the porters couldn't make it the extra 2.5km to the campsite so we had to go to a campsite which was nearer. And as we were walking, yangcheng, lester, hanwei and i got separated from the rest in one dense part of the forest. Then we saw one of the sec 4s who had a whistle so he blew it cos we really had no idea where we were going but we just kept walking. Damn freaky lar, eventually we just stopped, then wait for the back people to come. The feeling of being lost in an unknown place, damn scary.
Eventually we reached out first campsite. Around 800m already, gunung tahan is around 2100m. There was a waterfall area nearby so we bathed and stuff. Then had our first meal. The porters cooked for us and carried the tents. The food quite nice lol. But that time was quite late, so we couldnt see what we were eating then just eat and eat. After that, sleep. Shared tent with yangcheng, jingyao and zhihao. Zhihao meng crap lar lol. Then every night we just sit in the tent and sing and crap. The content shall not be posted cos..later i get screwed like how zhihao was screwed lol. Anyway we sleep at like 7+ lar like so early. But in the end we crap so much 1+ then sleep lol.
DAY 3, Monday 12 May
Woke up at 8. Our clothes still wet from bathing in them yesterday lol. Only good thing is that it was cooling, but that's why they told us to bring only one set for climbing cos you're gonna get wet anyway.
The usual walking and all. But less leeches cos we're higher up already ao yangcheng started shouting PYTHON. Along the way it got more and more cooling quite fun. We reached camp kubang which is like 1400m. Quite cooling so very nice. We went to pitch our tent beside joash, bertrand, daniel and yujies tent. But ours is on one soft spot. We ate maggie mee at like 4+ for our delayed lunch. Then later eat dinner. I took some pics of my meals so when i decide to post with pictures then can see lol.
Luckily i didn't go get water lol, a lot of people fell down. The soft clay mud thingy. And the water is like not clean. So i decided to not take water just survive with what little water i had left. Zhi hao tv lol. The back of the tent had this window, and zhihao was doing all the lame tv shows, kept us entertained for quite awhile.
Sleep. Realised the ground was soft cos it was watery and the water seeped into our tent wth. Our own radio station at night lol, and zhihao talked in the retarded voice and kept requesting kao pei rap o.o the usualy nightly singing and crapping and then sleeping late.
DAY 4, Tuesday 13 May
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JINGKAI! See i remember.
Ascent to the submit, almost 700m vertical distance to climb. But overall was quite okay cos the higher it is more cooling. Yangcheng was supposed to shout SUMMIT but he only shouted it once.
NO WATER. A lot of people didn't/couldn't refill our water and there was no water source along the way to our last campsite. Not haveing water was very amusing lol. Especially bertrand.
"Leech come and suck my water then i can drink you"
-bertrand suddenly stops while walking and pulls a leaf of a plant towards him- "where is the next water source?"
me: "oi go leh"
bertrand: "it haven't give me reply yet!"
"WATER WATER WATER"
yea that's pretty much what bertrand was saying throughout. Walking behind bertrand damn amusing lol. Seeing him do all the weird stunts and fumble here fumble there. And i have to keep saving him, he really nearly died so many times lar o.o then i went to pull him back. Must thank me lol.
The bonsai trees were nice. It's not those small little ones in tiny little pots it's those giant real big ones. Zhihao sprained his ankle so he was moving reallyyyyy slowly. So we decided to chiong up the hill, and we unknowingly reached out last campsite, damn happy lar lol. It's called botak hill cos it's..botak. Only an area of stones. We stoned there for awhile. Pun heh. Then the ascent to the summit!
The summit is like 30mins away from the campsite..according to the uncle. But judging from past experiences..

Okay so the local guide told us it would actually take one hour to get to the summit lol. Got quite a lot of steep slopes and all. But the view..omg lar. Super nice. Imagine walking, and you walk halfway, see a cloud float right past you. And you walk through it. Then you look around you and see the mountain range. Nice nice.
SUMMIT! Took pictures. Then there was a cliff and they say if you pee then it will freeze and become icicles and kill somebody down there o.o we saw a lot of people's names carved there so we carved also
After awhile. We yi yi bu she-ly went down back to botak hill. I walked down with jingyao and yangcheng, then jingyao was like chiong chiong chiong and halfway through he disappeared. Then on the last stretch of path back, i turned to my right and saw jingyao on some patch of bushes lol. He went the wrong way damn amusing. And the porters set up their tent at somewhere daniel choong went to shit. And he had to tell us when we were eating. "I shitted 10m forward 5m right, which is the porter's tent, so your food may be contaminated"
At night, people, someone in particular, shouting vulgarities while gambling. And is really shouting. Wth lar. It's a public place. Got so many locals around. And the guide even told others that we are from ming xiao, still go there f here f there. Total disgrace. And the truth is that no matter how many times we tried to tell you your mistake, you still wanna give us that sarcastic tone. What for say sorry when you don't wanna do anything about it at all.
We decided not to let such things ruin our mountain journey and we slept amazingly early. At like 7+ lol. But we woke up at 10+, then our usual night crapping began. Zhihao was busy talking about harry potter. Very amusing lol. JK Rowling and her hasty improvisations to keep harry potter in school despite him breaking every rule possible so that she can have a steady flow of income. The car that defied all laws of physics. lol and about the part where they could have just landed in hogwarts but jk rowling had to add the tree to attack them as another hasty improvisation. The snake that lived in the schools sewage system which was called the chamber of secrets. The night bus that was a reused magic school bus painted purple and the dementors only wearing rags to cut costs lol lol lol. Halfway through at the order of the phoenix gang hao yangcheng, jingyao and i fell asleep at the same time, then zhihao realised he was talking to no one lol.
DAY 5, Wednesday 14 May
The journey back down began. We had to cover a 3 day distance in 2 days. Today was a 13km hike back down. Since it was mostly downslope, bertrand was busy doing his stunts and coming close to death lol.
After the 13 km we arrived at camp kor.
Crap awhile suddenly..BOOM. Thunder, not explosion lar. Then we were like die clothes outside, but nevermind last day already, just go back and bathe. After awhile, shit tent flooded. And only our tent flood. Even the sleeping back wet. Like sleeping in a puddle super irritating and wet and itchy so we didn't sleep. Except maybe zhihao lol. I ended up stoning all the way o.o
DAY 6, Thursday 15 May
Never wake up cos we didn't sleep in the first place. Ate some fish which was supposedly caught from the river? lol. Damn salted. Then bertrand came to me, "darren where to pee" then i just point at some random bush area at the bottom of a hill. Then he go off. After that i stand outside the tent cos it was wet and listen to them crap. After that i turn, then i see someone climbing up the steep side of the hill. So i ask joash, who is that, cos i couldn't see without my specs, and joash said..bertrand. lol he climb all the way up lar, damn considerate.
Then our trek back to the starting point began. It was like counting the number of rivers we had to cross. Then we saw the sign post, 6km, we thought is to the starting point. 6km later, we ended up at some river which was a resting point, 5 more km lol. I checked my legs, no leech. Still no leech bite even after one whole week in gunung tahan. So i decided to untighten the fold on my track pants. After awhile..finally a leech bite lol. But only one tiny one so i decided to let it bite longer hoping it would grow bigger but it still stayed so tiny and pathetic so i decided to spray it off.
Finally the last stretch. I shall not talk about the leech thrower who go there and leech stuff from everybody and then throw leech at people, what a way to thank others, same as the one who was f-ing all the way through the night. We were walking, waiting for someone to shout. Finally a shout, we knew we were near the suspension bridge back. And stupid bertrand had to say later we reach the bridge then the bridge break and we die then cannot go back lol. So now we were shouting BRIDGE BRIDGE. And finally..BRIDGE. Went across and we were out of gunung tahan!
Then the leech killing spree began. Sliced leech, dissolved leech, squashed leech, stabbed leech, kentucky fried leech. Everything. Yangcheng and i had a leech slaughter table heh. I shall upload the picture next time, viewer discretion is advised. Leeches turn white when they are burned o.o then they will start like boiling and fluids will come out and they will straighten then become hard
Reached there, thanked the driver and porters then we left our bags in kfc. Ate kfc! They actually use plates lol. And they have cheesy wedges omg damn nice. The only problem is ordering. Bertrand the best, order one ice milo then he got 2 ice milo and one burger. Then the person asked zhihao what he want in malay then zhihao stun lol.
We walked around. It was around 5pm, the train ride was at 11.30pm. Bought cheap sweets. Got a lot of interesting stuff. Fake clothes, tongkat ali flavoured drink. Got many flavours..like honey lol. We sat at some coffee shop place and drank milo while watching some lame drama serial with an actor that looks like he was one eye closed all the time. Then whenever he appeared on screen we would start laughing lol.
Went back to kfc for awhile, then went for more walking around with yangcheng and yujie. They went to the same shop like 5 times cos the area was quite small. Then yangcheng go flirt with the malaysian girls lol, but got one guy look like he want to beat us up. Luckily i had my knife in my pocket o.o
Went back to kfc and talked about random stuff. Then finally time to leave. Stoned at the train station from 10.55pm. At 11.30pm, no train, the oyaji, japanese for old man who is actually our guide, told us the train was delayed to 12am. lol Throughout the whole camp we were calling him oyaji. Then at 12, we were told it was delayed to 12.20. Finally around 12.30 it came. Managed to sleep for awhile. Then i woke up at like 5+ and we started crapping.
Tanjong pagar train station, father sent me home. Unpack everything, eat. Then stone. Sleep like 2 hours actually planned to sleep only 1 hour but somehow the alarm didn't wake me up. First time, amazing lol. Woke up, then went to do pull ups but somehow i became very dizzy then i walk around like zombie wanna collapse. So i decided to sit down and stone and do normal stuff o.o like more stoning.
Overall the camp quite okay. Sense of achievement lol, first mountain. Supposedly the 4th toughest in the world, highest in west malaysia. But also..saw the true sides of a lot of people, when they are out of their comfort zone.
Training tomorrow, haven't worn any part of my uniform for so long lol. Those who brought boots have to go in pt kit o.o boots still wet and stinky like berts. I look at the time i started posting, 6.10pm, now is 10.58pm, i took like 5 hours to post lol most pro. I shall go stuff myself with sweets then can go to the klinik gigi.
